Hello, can you hear us now? We’re in surround sound.

Photon SF is making a bang, and we’re not talking fireworks. We’ve updated our sound studio to include 5.1 capabilities.

Happy 4th of July from Photon SF from Photon on Vimeo.

For this year’s installment of Citrix’s Wow to How, we wanted to do something different. We were the opening act to WB’s Man of Steel, after all, so we brought our A-Game!

Shot over the course of 5 days- in 12 locations ranging from a private jet in Petaluma, to a golf course in Santa Clara- our spectacular 25 person crew shot this 30 minute tutorial on the RED, created 75 VFX shots and yes… mixed it in 5.1 surround sound. Superman didn’t even see us coming.

CBS interactive got a few more whiz-bang-pops on their latest sizzle reel. While In Lieu of Flowers, the feature film that premiered at Newport Beach Film Festival in April, not only sported a 5.1 Photon mix, but an EPIC final color treatment that had our RED ROCKET working overtime.

Founder Brandon Butrick always said that “sound is half of the picture.” Little did he know that this update would have his entire staff clamoring to work the weekend on concept development, copywriting, production, design, animation, and yes… even a 5.1 sound mix… on a holiday card, no less.

Yes, you heard that right, friends. Happy 4th of July! (now available in 5.1)

Who needs fireworks when you can create them yourself?
